Moms Biscuits


2 cups sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup shortening or butter
2/3 cup milk


1. Sift dry ingredients together.
2. Cut in shortening or butter until it resembles coarse meal.
3. Add milk and mix briefly until dry ingredients are moistened.
4. Place on a floured board and knead gently about ten times.
5. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness, cut with a biscuit cutter and place on a cookie sheet.
6. Bake at 450F about 10 minutes until golden.
7. Yields 2 dozen
