1 clean pail
1 c. Joy or Dawn dishwashing detergent
3-4 tbsp. glycerine (optional, from your pharmacy)
10 c. clean, cold water (up to 50% more on dry days)


Measure 10 cups of water into the pail. Add soda. Add glycerine. Stir, but not too much. You don't want froth on the top because it tends to break the bubbles. Skim off with your hand if frothy.
