Cheesy Chocolate Orange Cupcakes

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. grated orange rind
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces, melted

1. Preheat oven to 350 F. In a small bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg and orange rind until creamy. Stir in chocolate pieces; set aside.
2. In a medium bowl or on waxed paper, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
3. In a large bowl with mixer at low speed, beat oil and egg until well combined. Add melted chocolate. Gradually beat in flour mixture alternately with orange juice and water.
4. Spoon half the batter into 16 paper lined cupcake pans. Spoon 1 rounded tablespoon cheese filling over batter. Spoon remaining batter over cheese filling. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from pans. Cool on wire racks. Makes 16.
