Ingredients:

3 pounds spareribs --in serving pcs.
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1can sauerkraut --undrained
2 medium carrots --shredded
1unpared tart apple --finely chopped
1 1/2 cups tomato juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 to 3 t. caraway seed


Preparation:

Season ribs with salt and pepper and place in a Dutch oven or 8x13" pan. Combine remaining ingredients; spoon under and over ribs. Bake, covered, 350 degrees for 2 1/2-3 1/2 hours or until done. Baste several times with juices during the last hour of cooking.

4-6 servings.
