Green Beans and New Potatoes

Ingredients:

2 quart green beans
2 pound small new potatoes
5 slices bacon
2/3 cup boiling water
salt


Preparation:

Snap and wash green beans; scrub potatoes. Drain all water, but that as clings. Heat heavy pot and render bacon until most fat is out. Remove bacon. Leave fat in pot; add green beans. Do not cover pan. Stir beans often the first 10 minutes. Sprinkle with salt. Place scrubbed new potatoes on top of beans; add water. Place tight lid over pot; cook 45 minutes, stirring only once.
