Hamburger Italiano

1-1/2 lb. lean ground beef
2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1 medium onion, chopped
1 8-oz. package elbow macaroni, cooked
1 green pepper, chopped
1 3-oz. can mushroom stems & pieces
1 tsp salt
1 10-1/2 oz. can tomato soup
1/4 tsp pepper
1 medium tomato, chopped
1/2 tsp purchased mixed Italian seasonings
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Oven method: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Begin cooking macaroni as directed on package. While macaroni is cooking, brown ground beef and drain fat. Add chopped onion and green pepper and cook a few minutes until onion is transparent. Remove from heat and stir in salt, pepper, purchased mixed Italian seasonings, and Worcestershire sauce. By this time, macaroni should be done -- drain macaroni and place in 2-1/2 quart casserole dish. Add beef mixture, mushrooms, tomato soup, and chopped tomato -- stir to combine. Bake covered 40 minutes. Remove cover; sprinkle with 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese and bake 5 minutes longer.
Microwave method: Follow directions above, except microwave assembled dish (covered) at full power for 8 minutes. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese and microwave uncovered for 1 minute to melt cheese.
Makes six servings.
