Pork Chops with Orange Soy Sauce


1 cup fresh orange juice
1 tbsp. reduced sodium soy sauce
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 tsp. thyme leaves
4 4-oz bone in pork chops, trimmed of fat
Salt/pepper to taste
1/2 tbsp. canola oil


1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius)

2. Mix the orange juice, soy sauce, garlic and thyme

3. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper

4. Heat oil over high heat in a large ovenproof skillet, add the pork chops and sear 1-2 min per side until browned

5. Transfer skillet to oven and bake for about 5 minutes, until just a trace of pink remains in the center

6. Transfer the pork chops to a plate and keep warm

7. Add the reserved orange-soy mixture to the skillet; cook over high heat for 3-5 minutes until sauce is reduced by half

8. Add the pork chops and any juices that have accumulated on the plate
