Australian Pepper Steak


2 lbs. round steak
2 c. chopped onions
2 crushed garlic cloves
2 tbsp. melted butter
2 tbsp. olive oil
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3-1/2 c. tomatoes, skinned and sliced
1 beef bouillon cube
1 large green pepper, thinly sliced
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce


Trim fat from steak. Cut into thin strips. Brown meat, onion and garlic in butter and oil in large skillet. Add salt, celery salt, pepper, tomatoes, bouillon cube and green pepper. Cover and simmer 30-45 minutes or until meat is tender. Combine cornstarch and Worcestershire sauce, stir into meat mixture. Cook until thickened. Serve with mashed potatoes, cooked rice or noodles.
